Great Aussie Bush Camp ( Year 6 )

Year 6 students will be going to Great Aussie Bush Camp at Tea Gardens from Wednesday 11th Decemberer to Friday 13th December, 2019 (2 nights, 3 days).

We consider this to be a valuable experience for Year 6 children as it provides them with a variety of learning experiences some of which are not possible at Yagoona Public School.  Socialising skills, cooperation, group problem solving and learning in a new environment are some of the educational benefits of this school program.

The children will participate in an Outdoor Education Program. They are supervised at night by Yagoona teachers who have rooms adjoining the students’ lodges.  There is a separate lodge for boys and girls. Nutritious and well-balanced meals including vegetiarian and halal are prepared by full-time catering staff.

All students are actively involved in lessons throughout the day. After the evening meal all students are involved in various supervised recreation activities until bedtime. Your child will participate in some of the following activities: Rock Climbing, Archery, Bush walking, Canoeing, High Ropes, Raft building, Bush craft and much more.

All centre staff are qualified teachers.  They are also trained in Outdoor Education and First Aid.  The centre has a fair and consistent discipline policy. Students will be removed from activities if their behaviour is not acceptable.

The cost of the outdoor education program (including transport) is $330.00. This can be paid off in installments or a total payment of $330.00 can be made. All money must be paid by Thursday 27th  November 2019.

If you would like your child to attend, please complete the permission note and return it to school with the first installment of $100.00.  If you are unsure or have any questions please contact Ms Lisa Borg.

If you have financial difficulties, please speak directly to Ms Lisa Borg.
