Office hours: 8:30am – 3:15pm
Wet Weather
During wet weather students are to stay in the classroom. Before school all students go straight to their classroom when they arrive at school (children must not arrive before 8:30am). The school encourages raincoats to be used and not umbrellas.
Illness
Should your child become sick and be unable to attend school, you can complete an absence report for the class teacher online. Alternatively write a brief note to the class teacher, explaining the nature of the illness and the date/s away and give to the class teacher upon your child's return. You do not need to phone the school unless the illness is an infectious disease or particularly serious and the absence is expected to exceed more than three days. You must contact the school immediately of infectious diseases such as chicken pox, measles, German measles, mumps, whooping cough or conjunctivitis and impetigo.
Interpreter Services
The school has access to telephone interpreter services through the front office.
Canteen
The school canteen is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am for lunch orders. Lunch orders must be placed at the canteen by 9.00am.Occasionally there are special lunch days throughout the year which are advertised in the weekly newsletter.
Lunch orders should have the following information written on the lower half of a large paper bag: name and class, lunch request, total amount (if change is required, it will be taped to the outside of the bag).
Volunteers are most welcome to assist in the canteen. Should you wish to become a volunteer, please contact the Canteen Manager or the School Office.
Homework
Homework is designed to consolidate what your child is learning in the classroom. Each grade has different expectations of the type and quantity of homework completed each week. Class teachers will inform you of their expectations.
Interviews and Reports
Parent–teacher interviews are held in early Term 1 and early Term 3. Reports are sent home end of Term 2 and Term 4.
Should you wish to discuss your child's progress at any other time please make an appointment with your child's class teacher.
Assemblies
Each morning students have a brief morning assembly where reminders for upcoming events and activities for that day are announced.
Formal school assemblies are held each Friday at 2:00pm in the hall. Assemblies alternate between K-2, 3-6 and whole school assemblies. Each class presents the assembly and your child's class teacher will inform you of the times for these. Other special school assemblies are held on a number of occasions during the year. Dates and times are published in the weekly newsletter and online on the calendar. Parents are welcome to attend.
